To create a document with “bleeds,” add 1/8 inch (.125″) to each side, which makes the document 1/4 inch (.25″) larger than the expected finished size.
For example, a standard business card is 3.5″ wide x 2″ tall.
Make your business card file 3.75″ x 2.25″. Everything outside the extra 1/8 inch (beyond the magenta line, as shown in the example) will be trimmed away during our finishing process.
Make sure to keep images and text within the “safety” blue line, as shown in the example, to assure that important info doesn’t get too close to the edge of the final trimmed paper.
